UERN is an Associate Institution of PROFBIO, through the Department of Biological Sciences. PROFBIO/UERN face-to-face classes will be held on Fridays.

Goal

The Professional Master's Degree in Biology Teaching in a National Network - PROFBIO, aims at the professional qualification of Biology teachers working in basic education, aiming at improving the teacher's performance in the classroom, both in terms of content and in relation to the strategies to facilitate the teaching-learning process of Biology as an experimental science.

The course will be based on the logic of building scientific knowledge, so that the master's student works simultaneously with his students on the concepts explored in each Biology topic, through the development of strategies for approaching these themes. Teacher training in the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) will be worked on by carrying out part of the course activities in a virtual learning environment (AVA), involving the use of various tools, complemented by instrumentation disciplines in the use of different technological and audiovisual resources.
