RESUMO:

The History of Ceará is a subject little covered in Elementary II and High School classes in state schools. With the reduction in regional entrance exams promoted by universities due to the universalization of the National Secondary Education Examination (ENEM) and the fact that the contents of textbooks privilege only some regions, this process has been accelerated. This dissertation aims to integrate regional history into the subjects studied in regular classes with the intention of enhancing students' interest. To achieve this, we intend to use the Human Sciences Olympiad of the State of Ceará (OCHE) as a research object. OCHE had its 1st edition in 2019 and was created by the Federal Institute of Ceará (IFCE). We intend to analyze the potential of the Olympics as a tool for developing historical awareness (RÜSEN, 2010). The objective of the work is to analyze how regional history is discussed by OCHE. Our work aims to contribute to promoting interest in the discipline of history, using the study of regional history, with the analysis of Olympiad activities. In order to the objective to be achieved, we developed questionnaires using the Google Forms tool aimed at students and teachers who have already participated in the Olympics, at the Gustavo Barroso Municipal School and the General Edgard Facó Military Police College, both located in the city of Fortaleza - CE. Secondly, we will select some objective questions and tasks from the five editions of OCHE (2019 to 2023) and an investigation based on the content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977). Subsequently, we intend to develop a didactic sequence for the 9th year of elementary school that aims to value regional history through new technologies, using applications from the Google platform (Earth, Forms, Maps, Youtube). Our purpose is to formation historical concious subjects of the importance of their role in society. The knowledge of historical facts that are closer to the geographic space of the historical subject is a powerful experience in Historical Education (LEE, 2001).
