RESUMO:

This is research on gamification, using the MMORPG Tibia in teaching History, emphasizing classes on the Middle Ages. It presents the potential of gamification in History teaching, addressing how coexistence in a digital universe can contribute to the understanding of content linked to the medieval period. It was discussed how the MMORPG Tibia can contribute to the understanding of medievalism, as well as how it can also contribute to breaking down some anachronisms that commonly occur in the student's imagination when the subject is the Middle Ages. It was also possible to provide information about the guiding documents regarding the use of technologies in teaching, as well as the guidelines of the education departments involved in the work. It also refers to the Project-Based Learning methodology using Tibia, debating active methodologies in education and the student as the main part of the teaching and learning process.
