The Uses of the BNCC in School Daily Routine: the Competencies and Specific Skills of Humanities in History Teaching

This study investigates the development of competencies and skills in Humanities in High School, as established by the BNCC, specifically in History classes in public schools in Aracati, Ceará. The general objective is to analyze how such competencies are cultivated in the school environment. To achieve this, a critical reading of competency-based pedagogy is proposed, examining the implementation of the BNCC in the context of educational reform. The research utilizes participatory observation to accompany the classes of three teachers in three schools, aiming to identify strategies and methods used to develop the proposed competencies, especially in 1st-year High School classes. Additionally, it aims to understand to what extent the prescriptions of the BNCC are effectively applied in the investigated schools. This study will contribute to a deeper understanding of pedagogical practices in History teaching and the challenges faced in implementing the BNCC.
