In recent years, Brazilian education has become the scene of major clashes and discussions regarding the reform of Secondary Education, sanctioned through Law 13,415/2017, which amended the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB nº 9394/1996) and instituted changes to the curricular structure of this school stage. In view of this, the theme began to be widely discussed in all media instances and which draws our attention due to the discrepancy in the different discursive formations that discuss the measure, in which there are subjects with opposing or favorable positions. Based on the above, the object of study of this work is the media discourses surrounding the New High School. For these reasons, our general objective lies in analyzing media productions about the NEM, as a discursive event permeated by biopolitical strategies and desires for truth, mobilizing meanings articulated with the statement “New Secondary Education, those who know it approve!”, in discursive formations that bring together positions of subjects who approve or resist educational reform. To this end, we are theoretically anchored in French Discourse Analysis, specifically in Foucauldian studies (1976, 1988, 1995, 1996, 2004, 2004a, 2006, 2008 and 2010), since we are based on their concepts, such as : discourse, subject, statement, discursive formation, archive, knowledge, power, resistance, biopower, biopolitics and governmentality. Methodologically, this is a descriptive-interpretative study, of a qualitative nature, using the archaeogenealogical method. For the corpus we selected 14 (fourteen) discursive materialities that circulate in the media discursive field, since it is important for us to understand the conditions of emergence of the discourse about the New High School and how these discursivities mobilize meanings about education in contemporary society. The results of the analyzes indicate that the discourses on the High School Reform are marked by a series of disparate positions, which result from the desire for truth that sustains them. In this way, we can observe, if, on the one hand, subjects resist changes in the education system, spreading contrary statements, on the other, those who agree and express themselves in favor of the reform emerge. Despite these perceptions, the investigations also allowed us to understand how the government acts through biopolitics, through media campaigns, using specific techniques and procedures to regulate and discipline the subjects involved in the educational process.
