RESUMO:

The aim is to investigate challenges for family farmers' access to the Food Acquisition Program (PAA). An integrative literature review was conducted, which is a method through which the past literature on a particular topic is summarized to provide a more comprehensive understanding of a specific phenomenon (Broome, 2006, as cited in Botelho, Cunha, & Macedo, 2011). This study considered different contexts where the program is implemented, and the results showed that these challenges range from limitations in disseminating program procedures and benefits, logistics challenges, and support from the involved organizations to the receipt of payments by beneficiaries.
