RESUMO:

This research proposes to investigate, know and reflect, in a conceptual way, what children in the literacy process think about remote teaching, the process they went through until they returned to school; to know the challenges faced by them, as well as to observe the teaching practices of the teachers, based on the children's own autobiographical narratives. Ferreiro (2004) says that the development of literacy occurs in a certain social environment. Thereby This research problematizes the challenges of social distancing caused in children who experienced this process during learning. This context raises the following research question: What do children in the literacy process say about school in times of remote learning? We aim to find answers, at least partial, to our restlessness, according to the narratives of the children themselves, subjects of this research, considering that the activity of narrating their own life is truly revealing about the learning processes experienced by these women during the pandemic period. According to the contextualization made so far, this research has as its general objective: To investigate the perceptions of children in the literacy process about school in times of remote teaching. And as specific objectives: a) To identify what children think about school and remote learning; b) To know the challenges faced by children in the literacy process in remote education; c) Reflect on teaching practices for literacy in remote learning. The present investigation is defined as a qualitative research, which seeks to understand the phenomena that are studied through the interpretation of the individuals themselves who participate in the learning scenario and understood from the writings of Bogdan and Biklen, (1994), based on the theoretical references studied before and, in the course of the research, the study focuses on the theoretical contributions of Saviani (2009); Freire (1989); Blacksmith (2004); Colello (2021) and Costin (2020), among others. It is a research based on (auto)biographical principles and methods, anchored in references such as Passegi (2014); Rocha (2012) and Castro and Souza (2008). The construction of the data was based on the contributions of Jovchelovitch and Bauer (2002). A total of 14 children between 7 and 10 years of age contributed to the research Vappropriate phase for Elementary School (2nd and 3rd years). The locus of the study was the Escola Estadual Professora Joana Honório da Silveira Moura, a public institution located in the municipality of Angicos - RN. The initial studies of this study show that, due to the state of emergency we are experiencing caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19), the school began to experience many challenges in the beginning, leading the educational units to follow a new teaching model, called Emergency Remote Teaching (ERE), which is something that was temporarily implemented so that curricular activities did not need to be interrupted, as well as some socioeconomic impacts on teachers, families and, especially, on children in the literacy process. Thus, it was necessary to problematize, think, understand and distinguish what we experienced in this period in relation to distance learning and its practices. With this, we hope that this study can contribute to the clarification of such central and urgent points in the face of the moment we are experiencing in Brazil. The analysis of the data allowed us to see indicators and categories in order to interpret and reflect on the results of this study.
