RESUMO:

This project is a study on the forecast of prices of soybeans, corn and coffee before, during and after the pandemic for investors and traders, in the period from 2008 to 2022, with 2018 to 2022 being outside the sample. The document starts with an introduction on the importance of price forecasting for traders and investors. Then, a review of the literature on the export sector and the competitiveness of Brazilian soybeans is presented, as well as advanced price forecasting techniques. The study uses the VAR (Vector Autoregressive) method to predict the future prices of soybeans, corn and coffee. The data used in the study will be collected from interesting sources, such as Conab and Ipea. The study also analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the prices of soybeans, corn and coffee.
