RESUMO:
The present project aims to produce silenite crystals of the Bi25FeO40 type, using bismuth, iron and titanium ores as solid precursors, through the solid-state reaction synthesis route. The objective is to dope the iron sites with titanium ions and characterize the samples regarding their structural, morphological, magnetic and optical properties. For structural characterization, Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (EDXRF) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analyzes will be carried out. The morphology will be examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images for the powder samples. The magnetic behavior and possible transitions will be evaluated using Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (MAV) techniques, as well as Zero Field Cooling (ZFC) and Field Cooling measurements carried out with the aid of a PPMS (Physical Property Measurement System). The absorbance, transmittance and band gap energy will be determined by UV-Visible Spectrometry (UV-Vis). To visualize and determine the resonance signals and g-factor of each sample, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (RPE) measurements will be carried out. Finally, the project aims to apply the samples in photocatalytic activities.
