RESUMO:

This research has as object of study the restructuring policy of the New High School (known in Brazil by the Portuguese acronym, NEM), established through the Law nº 13.415/2017. The general objective is to analyze how political processes have been constituted/are being constituted around the new high school in two pilot schools circumscribed to the 14th DIREC – Umarizal/RN. We are interested in understanding the processes of signification/ resignification of politics, the way the subjects organize, analyze, translate and stage the NEM proposal; negotiations and disputes around the flexibility of the curriculum. We articulate the following specific objectives: 1- to investigate impacts of NEM in the schools in question; 2- analyze how DIREC negotiated adaptations and tensions with school teams for reorganization of the curriculum and construction of the Training Itineraries Implementation Plan - PIIF 2022 and 3- understand how the policy of the new high school was acted by the professionals of the schools. It is constituted as a qualitative study, from bibliographic survey, focus group and semi-structured interview; using as theoretical methodological contribution the Policy Cycle (PC) of Ball and Bowe (1992) and the Acting Theory (AT) of Ball, Maguire and Braun (2016); understanding, through PC, AT and the studies of Lopes and Macedo (2011), Mainardes (2006), Santos and Oliveira (2013), the school as a promoter of policy, and not only implementer. It defines as locus two schools of the state school network of Rio Grande do Norte and the 14th Regional Directorate of Education and Culture (DIREC), responsible for advising these schools.
