RESUMO:

This study aimed to verify the effect of space-time variation in the composition and structure of the ichthyofauna in an urban stretch of the Apodi/Mossoró River, RN. The same was carried out in the rural community of Passagem de Pedras, where collections were made from January 2021 to January 2022. The capture of fish was standardized through the use of a cast net and abiotic data were obtained with portable multiparameter. The evaluation of the fish community structure was done using the Chao2 and bootstrap estimators using the PAST program, where Shannon's diversity index and Pielou's equitability index were estimated. The partial results list a high species diversity. The results also support a variation in community structure along the river, with prevalence of freshwater species upstream and marine species richness downstream.
