ÁREA: Multidisciplinar
RESUMO:

This project articulates a discussion about the importance of literary reading within the context of the classroom in relation to the theme that involves ethnic-racial issues for an anti-racist education. It aims to investigate how children's literature focused on ethnic-racial issues can contribute to the formation of antiracist children. This study emerged, through the evidence of hate speech and violent actions towards black children and adults. It starts from the assumption that the insertion of black literature in the school environment enables the debate on ethnic-racial relations, with a perspective of visibility and access to black culture, contributing to the development of the identity of these subjects in a scenario of recognition, appreciation and of respect. It adopts a qualitative research approach and has as its locus the Municipal Elementary School Professora Nila Rêgo in the city of Pau dos Ferros, RN. Its subjects are students of the 5th year of elementary school and the head teacher of the class. For the construction of data, we will use participant observation, black literature reading mediation sessions, collective interviews, and a questionnaire with the main teacher of the class, to understand how the mediation experience was lived by them, and if this theme is really discussed at school, that we have data for systematizing the intervention, intensifying whether the research develops a discussion about the importance of working with ethnic-racial literature with children to help in an anti-racist education, taking into account that it is a relevant theme for the deconstruction of stereotypes imposed by society, but also considerable for the school context
