RESUMO:

This study is focused on the Teaching of Geography in the form of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in the Municipality of Pau dos Ferros, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte (RN), where we will develop a look at the worker about the Freirean liberating perspective, strengthening the importance of the vocation for Being more from a teaching of Geography in the EJA that frees the student to think, for self-reflection and intentionality in the face of reality; Pepper; Ghedin (2012), not perpetuating in the classroom a Teacher with an oppressive attitude towards his teaching, as it is in this classroom space that we find students who have given up their studies, whether for personal or professional reasons, and return with possible difficulties that are particular to each one. Our general objective is to analyze the teaching of Geography in the EJA, in a State public school in the municipality of Pau dos Ferros in the 5th period, which is equivalent to the 8th and 9th year of elementary school II, having as a guiding question if and how the teacher or teacher of the discipline of Geography develops in the worker (a) of the (EJA), the criticality and reflection when approaching the contents of Geography in the classroom, and as a hypothesis to identify if the worker (a) who is enrolled is in this modality because or he works during the day and this is the only way to finish elementary school, or his age did not allow him to attend regular school, because at some point in his life he dropped out of studies and thus due to the methodology that will be used, being the descriptive and exploratory case study with a qualitative approach, using the technical procedures of the bibliographic survey such as Freire (1987), Freire (2015), Cavalcanti (2013), Brasil (2021), Gil (2011) and direct, systematic and participant observation in the field of study, using the observation diary, the non-structured interview, questionnaire, form and the pedagogical workshop in order to reach the specific objectives, because we understand that through the discipline of Geography it is possible to awaken a reflective and critical teaching from of the contents addressed in the classroom, considering aspects of the reality of the male and female worker, associating them with the curricular contents, and thus proposing a teaching of Geography for the modality, based on the curricular contents of Geography and the popular knowledge that are discussed by Freire ( 2015) arising from the worker's experiences throughout his life.
