RESUMO EM INGLÊS: The research entitled “Ethical dilemmas of teachers in the early years of elementary school: the assessment of learning in focus” aims to analyze what are the ethical dilemmas experienced by teachers in the early years of elementary school in the course of learning assessment and how these interfere and challenge their teaching activities. In this way, the problem-question is presented: what are the main ethical dilemmas experienced by teachers of the Early Years of Elementary School in the processes of learning assessment? The research is of a qualitative nature and is organized in two stages: the first is composed of a systematic bibliographical review, which is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, concepts, knowledge and meanings about education, ethics and humanist education are discussed. The second addresses ethics in the context of the teaching profession and the ethical dilemmas experienced in their professional work. And, finally, in the third, the learning evaluation process is treated with a focus on humanist ethics. The second moment is characterized by empirical research. Field research will take place at a school in the municipal education network in the city of Marcelino Vieira/RN. The analysis technique used was content analysis. It is planned to carry out interviews with five teachers from the Early Years of Elementary School, whose experiences will be shared in the sixth chapter. We believe that the main contributions extracted from our theoretical and empirical journey will generate the perspective of turning our attention to studies in the area of ethics, as well as to the ethical dilemmas experienced by educators in the field of learning, in particular, in their teaching activities, giving rise to new research that encourages a humanist-based ethics.
